I have been a fan of Seymour Simon's science picture books for some time. I think that his amazing photos bring the world, the solar system, and the universe in to the minds and hearts of every child who picks up one of his books. The reader can't help but become engaged in the text. After looking at the photos you are compelled to read in order to find out more.
This book is full of full page pictures of each planet. It is a book that you could spend a full half hour just leafing through. The text is also high engaging as well as scientifically accurate. Add one, two, or ten to your classroom library and your students will be begging you to teach them science.
